Simone Mousset trained in Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London at Trinity Laban, the Royal Academy of Dance and the London Contemporary Dance School. She has enjoyed working with numerous choreographers and artists such as Rachel Lopez de la Nieta, Ben Ash and Henrietta Hale from the choreographic ensemble Dog Kennel Hill Project, Matthias Sperling, James Wilton, Tony Adigun, Joahne O'Hara, Zoe Dimitriou, Akane Abe, Olga Theer, Alissar and Abdel-Halim Caracalla and others.
From 2011 to 2012, she performed internationally with the London-based postgraduate dance company EDge under the artistic direction of Jeanne Yasko, founder of Norrdans dance company. The company toured repertory by Sasha Waltz as well as four additional works throughout England and Europe. Among other projects in 2012, she was invited to create and perform a solo at the Tanzzentrale Nürnberg in Germany. In November she joined Caracalla Dance Theatre in Beirut where she worked for one year as full-time dancer and teacher of ballet and contemporary dance.
She’s a qualified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance in London, holding a degree in Ballet Education as well as the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD). In 2011, she received the Philip Nind Award for excellence in original and innovative research in Dance Education.
She has taught internationally in companies and institutions such as the Novosibirsk State Ballet College, Caracalla Dance Theatre, the Royal Academy of Dance, the International Academy of Performing Arts, the Place, the School of Modern Dance in Copenhagen, the Centre for Choreographic Creation in Luxembourg, as well as at numerous colleges and schools. She has also taught at intensive dance courses in Portugal and in the USA.
